A worksheet guide for fundraisers to pause and reflect in a new year

The beginning of a new calendar year means many things to many people: watching the ball drop at midnight, signing up for that gym membership, accidentally writing “2023” for the first few weeks, and for many, resolutions.

Whether that’s eating healthier, picking up a new hobby, or something else, many of us see the new year as a milestone to kickstart goals we want to achieve. As a fundraiser, the new year for many also means a reset to the fiscal year (or forecasting the end of the current fiscal year,) and a fresh start to our fundraising strategy. We might resolve to hosting one more fundraising campaign or sending one more donor letter this year.

It's understandable why many of us start the year focusing on a new list of activities. Goals have to be met, and the whirlwind of the year-end quarter can flow into January, making us feel like we need to go, go go!  But, instead of kickstarting the year with a list of tactical goals, we kindly invite you to pause, reflect, and enter this new year grounded in intention.

To kick-start that reflection, we’ve created a worksheet for you to think about your relationships, your leadership and skills, and what you dream of in this new year. Take 30 minutes, get yourself a cup of hot tea or coffee, and find a quiet space to take a thoughtful moment.

And once you’re finished with your worksheet, let the GiveMN team know how we can help!

Whether you want to meet one-on-one with one of our coaches to discuss your fundraising strategy or you simply need an answer to a question you have about GiveMN.org, we are here for you!
