The beginning of a new year means many things to many people: watching the ball drop at midnight, signing up for that gym membership, accidentally writing “2023” for the first few weeks…and for many, resolutions.

Whether that’s eating healthier, picking up a new hobby, or something else, many of us see the new year as a milestone to kickstart goals we want to achieve. And that same energy can apply to your impact on our community!

To kick-start another year of generosity, we’re sharing a list of new year’s goals you may consider taking on to show up in a kind and generous way for your friends, neighbors and community in 2024.

- [Give to one (or more!) causes](http://www.givemn.org/search?referral_code=2401enewsres) that are new to you
- Start a [monthly donation](https://support.mightycause.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015176772-How-to-Set-Up-and-Manage-Your-Recurring-Donation) to support an organization you love year-round
- **Share a meal with someone** and get to know them better
- **Volunteer** for a nonprofit whose work you care about
- **Write a note** to your favorite nonprofit or those who care for your community, letting them know that you appreciate the work they do for those who they serve
- **Check in** on a neighbor, friend, or family member
- **Make a donation** in someone’s honor or memory
