The Thursday before Thanksgiving is just another day anywhere else in the world. But in Minnesota, it’s our generosity holiday, Give to the Max Day!
Since 2009, we’ve been helping the nonprofits and schools you care about most raise millions of dollars to power their missions and enrich the lives of Minnesotans and beyond. This year, thousands of organizations are gearing up to share their work with you, so here are some highlights that the GiveMN Green Team wants you to know:
- Giving starts on November 1!
While the day of Give to the Max is on November 21st this year, you can donate on GiveMN.org anytime! In fact, donations made on GiveMN.org starting November 1st count towards all participating organizations’ GTMD goal. Whether you make a donation at midnight on November 1st or you wait until the day-of, your gift truly matters.
- Prize grants are available again this year!
Every year, we give away more than $100,000 in prize grants to participating organizations. We select these grants at random so your donation of $25 could turn into $500, $1,000, or even $10,000! Every time you make a donation, you’re one step closer to helping your favorite cause secure some extra generosity.
- Your support is needed.
One of the best things you can do for the causes that are near and dear to your heart is to give again this year. Nonprofits and schools rely on the generosity of community members like you who are willing to step up and say, “I believe in your work!” Donating again to causes you supported last year is a great way to let nonprofits know that you still support them.
- Spread the joy of giving!
Tens of thousands of Minnesotans donate during Give to the Max each year. In fact, Minnesota is one of the most generous states in the entire country! Encourage your friends and family to support their favorite causes, too, and help spread the joy of generosity this Give to the Max Day.
